Our Market Remains Strong

In one of our recent posts, we reported that the North Eastern Queens real estate market was enjoying an increase in buyer activity during the mid to late spring. As we approach the summer, we have noticed that this trend seems to be continuing.

While doing research for a New York Times article on life in Fresh Meadows for reporter Gregory Beyer, Julia discovered that the number of available listings in this area is low – both for one- and two-family residences, as well as for Co-op and Condominium sales. What does this low inventory indicate? People are buying!

One of the main contributing factors of the continuation of our strong market activity has been the extremely low mortgage interest rates that buyers have been enjoying. For now at least, the recent increase in mortgage interest rates does not appear to have had much of a negative impact on market conditions in Fresh Meadows, as well as Hollis Hills, Holliswood, Jamaica Estates, Bayside, Whitestone and the rest of North Eastern Queens. Hopefully we have reached the peak of rate increases and can continue to enjoy our market’s robust activity.

A recent Market Share Report generated from the Long Island Multiple Listing Service shows that Julia Shildkret Real Estate Group is ranked #1 amongst 38 realtors for closed listings in Fresh Meadows year to date, with a low average of 69 Days on Market (DOM). This points to the fact that the consistency of service, diligence, and professionalism that Julia Shildkret has extended to her clients and customers has allowed her sellers to successfully ride the wave of uncertainty.
